Orangina Gliss n’ Mix !! Awesome…..
The Orangina Gliss and Mix powered by UNLEASHED MAGAZINE and presented by GLOBAL COM was a monumental success as thousands of action sports fans converged on the Grand Palais in Paris to witness a surreal fusion of wake, snow and music on Saturday April 24th, 2010. This iconic site is the perfect setting for innovation and creativity, providing a magnificent backdrop in which to welcome and showcase some of the best wakeboarders, snowboarders, skiers and musical DJ’s for this historic first. Held in collaboration with O’Neil, this unique event had riders grouped in mixed teams battling it out for 15000 Euro in total cash prize.
On the snow, riders charged an insane 25 meter high slope, shaped in the form of a hip at the bottom and specifically designed for the Big Air contest. On the opposite side were two pools positioned for the wake portion where riders were pulled by a System 2.0 through a two-way course of wallrides, rails and kickers, while surrounded by spectacular visuals and lights. The atmosphere and vibe was electric and together they put on a mind-blowing show and all night after party under the enormous domed glass ceiling of this extraordinary venue, set right in the heart of Paris.
The overall win went to Steffen Vollert of Germany and Yann Pegaz of France for the wake portion, along with laurent Thevenet from france and Fredrik Evensen from Sueden in snow. The young talent Nico Von Lerchenfeld of Germany took best trick in wake and Fredrik Evensen from Sueden in snow. Of course, Unleashed was there to build everything and caption all the action…..
