PARKS BONIFAY’S DOUBLE OR NOTHING WAKEBOARDING CONTEST
Fifteen of the world’s best riders joined Parks Bonifay for the return of his annual Double or Nothing double-up contest, held in Florida at the Blue Lake. Riders threw down some of the most progressive tricks competing for the $10,000 purse.
MasterCraft Boats unveiled Parks’ signature 2011 MasterCraft X-Star, which features a supercharged, 540-horsepower engine. The riders weighted it down like never before, creating mind-blowing double-ups bigger than anyone had ever seen.
Each rider received seven double-up attempts behind the MasterCraft X-Star to land the best trick of the event. Parks set the pace early, landing his signature double half-cab roll. Later, he went for a double half-cab mobe — a trick only he has landed. Parks rotated fully, but just popped the handle.
Adam Errington almost landed a 1260, Jimmy LaRiche came close on a switch heelside 1080, and Chad Sharpe was close to getting a toeside double roll to revert. Daniel Watkins was a crowd favorite and set out to stomp a double back roll to blind. After coming super-close to landing it, he was bummed to leave it on the table, but also so psyched to be a part of the event.
